There’s a lot under the surface.

I’ve had a LOT of career indecision. I never chose a direct path—in undergrad at Bowdoin College I was an Art History major, and in my first year out of school quickly bounced from a job in museum curation to undergraduate admissions. Years later, I found myself in management consulting and then change management. I look back at my time and think—what happened?

There’s a LOT under the surface of every decision. I went to undergrad near the Maine coast. Sometimes, we’d go out during low tide and see the world that emerged as water receded. We’d walk out in the mud and see entire ecosystems normally hidden.

Rather than pursuing a specific vocation, I was subconsciously choosing career options that built SKILLSETS instead. Without knowing it, I was experiencing first-hand that a path of learning was steering my moments of indecision.

As a coach, I want to help guide my clients in pivotal moments, both explicit crossroads and times when they might be lacking passion and focus. By focusing on root causes of both actions and emotions, I help clients maximize their goal-orientation for career growth—ideally one optimized towards lifelong learning.

I know there’s a lot below the surface. I’d like to explore that with you.
